The Snowsky Wind Pro is a nice pairing with the quite famous Snowsky Echo Mini audio/mp3 player if you want that complete nostalgia package. They're both good value for money options. A good gateway to the DAP world.
PROS
No pressure on the ears
No pressure with eyeglasses
Mostly balanced sound
Good sound stage
Audible bass
Sounds okay even on low volume
Extra ear foam
Looks nice
CONS
Ear foam feels warm/itchy
Materials feels cheap
Doesn't feel secure on the head & ear
Weakness is the treble and details. But that may depend on the fit. Doesn't bother me too much, I think it fits the retro aesthetics.
The play/volume buttons on the wire doesn't work on the snowsky echo mini
OVERALL
Good for the price
Don't expect too much
Not as comfortable as I initially expected due to the foam, but still overall comfortable in terms of less pressure on the ear and head.
ADDDITIONAL THOUGHTS
I think it takes a day to get used to it and it seems better now. The foam and fit doesn't bother me as much now. Although I'm curious if there's a better foam material on other brands. The foam is thick enough that I don't feel the plastic ear cups. You may also have to experiment a bit how you position it on your ear, which affects both comfort and sound.
I imagine this is a nice headphone like when you're walking around and you still want to appreciate the sound of your surroundings.
If you're lying on the bed with a pillow, it doesn't put pressure on the back of your ear (which happens when you're using an over the ear headphone). I think this is my favorite use case for this.
I actually chose the orange colored foam but I think it looks weird on me. Good thing there's an extra grey foam which I like more.
I was choosing between this and the moondrop old fashioned. I chose this because it's newer and cheaper than the moondrop. But it makes me wonder if I should have gone with the moondrop cos that seems more solid. But who knows?
So, overall I'm happy with this headphones.
