“It is the time you have wasted for your rose that makes your rose so important” -The Little Prince
Smiger LG-2 Pro Max, Hotone Pulze Mini, Yamaha AG03, Edifier MR3
The new addition is an old RJ amp I got from FB marketplace. I’ve tried and sold a few stuff this year. I try not to keep things that I no longer use. Musical instruments are best enjoyed rather than kept.

I missed playing with a real amp on the floor. It feels different because I feel the sound through my body, compared to studio monitors that are usually pointed to the ear.
I’ve always used studio monitors as a FRFR cab/speaker. However I found out that my current one (Edifier MR3) has some latency due to its internal DSP (digital signal processing). Latency is like digital tax these days. That’s why it felt more distant when I’m tracking guitars, which I don’t like. My Hotone Pulze Mini already has 5ms latency so I don’t want to add any more to that. I still love the MR3 for everything else. The DSP allows the speaker to be tuned/equalized using the Edifier mobile app.
When I was looking for an amp, I made sure that it’s analog (no DSP). I use the Pulze Mini as the amp modeler and connect through the RJ amp’s aux in so it’s like a PA speaker/FRFR. The amp has a 5 band EQ which allows me to tweak the final output. When I’m tracking guitars, I also use the Pulze Mini as an audio interface. It’s the same setup so I can also monitor the DAW output through the amp. If you haven’t noticed yet I’m really happy with this Pulze Mini since I got it July this year. It wins gadget of the year for me π
I also got a stand for the amp. It’s actually an adjustable CPU desktop stand (Orico brand). Just a bit of protection because my dogs tend to pee on corners. Really amazing what you can find on Shopee these days π
